Staff members can view and manage Parent Notes from the Year Head Dashboard, taking any necessary actions as needed.
A Note From Parent should not be used for Attendance.
A Note From Parent should include miscellaneous information such as “Sophie's uniform is in the wash, so she's wearing her PE gear”
If you receive a Note From Parent in relation to attendance, please advise the parent/guardian to use the Attendance Notes instead (Absentee form, Late Note & Permission To Leave).
How to View a Note from Parent
1. Open the Year Head Dashboard
2. Go to Note From Parent on the side menu
3. From here, you can view any notes you are assigned to.
If you are not seeing the correct information in the Administrator's App or Dashboard, it means you do not have access to it and requires to be added by a full access member. Please contact the School admin or refer to the help guide on Access and permissions.

How to Acknowledge/Reply to a Note from Parent
If the note only requires Acknowledgment without a custom reply:
- In the Note From Parent section, select the checkbox next to the student's name.
- Click the Acknowledge button.
The parent will then receive a notification through the app confirming that the school has acknowledged the note.

If the note requires a Reply:
- In the Note From Parent section, click the View option to the right of the screen on the note.
- Click Ack & Reply.
- Type your message and click Send Reply.
The parent will receive a notification through the app with your message.

How to Forward a Note from Parent to Another Staff Member
If a note is sent to the wrong staff member, you can forward it to the correct person:
- In the Note From Parent section, click the View option to the right of the note.
- In the Search Teacher box, type the name of the staff member you want to forward the note to.
- Select the staff member's name.
- Click Send Email.
This will send an email notification to the staff member.
Important Note:
To respond or acknowledge the note, the staff member must do so from the Year Head Dashboard or Administrators App. Replies to the email notification will be sent to a Unique Schools "DO NOT REPLY" inbox and will not reach the parent.
