This section explains how to add students to Detention either from the Late List or for other behavioural reasons using the Year Heads Dashboard.
Create a Detention
1. Go to the Detention tab on the left-hand menu of the Year Heads Dashboard.
2. Click the Add button in the top-right corner.
3. Add the Title and Time of your Detention. (Refer to “Adding Time Slots” for more detail.)
4. Assign the Detention to the staff member in charge. An email will automatically notify them of the assignment.
5. Click Submit.

Add Students to Detention from the Late List
1. Go to Attendance Overview from the left-hand menu of the Year Heads Dashboard.
2. Click on the Late Note tab under All Student Attendance.
3. Filter your date range and any other relevant parameters.
Example:
Date Range: Last Week
Filter: Requested Note Status → Unexplained Lates
4. Review the Late List and check the students you wish to add to Detention.
5. Click Add to Detention.
6. Select an existing Detention or create a new one.
7. Click Submit.
Note: Once submitted, parents/guardians will receive a Personal Notification via the app, informing them their student has been added to Detention for lateness.

Add Students to Detention for Other Reasons
1. Go to the Detention tab on the left-hand menu of the Year Heads Dashboard.
2. Click on the “Eye” icon to View Students
3. Click on the Add Student button to the right of the screen
4. Select the Year(s) and/or Class(es)
5. Click Apply Filter button
6. Select the Student(s)
7. Add to Final List
8. Select the Reason
7. Click Add to Detention.
Note: Once students are added, parents/guardians will receive a Personal Notification via the app, informing them their student has been added to Detention for the reason selected.
