Personal notifications allow you to communicate directly with a single Parent/Guardian/Staff Member or a specific group of Parents/Guardians/Staff Members. This is a more targeted notification.
Sending a Personal notification allows you to view who has read the message. Users will receive weekly reminders until they open to read the message.
To send a Personal notification please follow the steps below:
- Go to your Dashboard and tap on Personal notification then in the dropdown select Manage Personal notification
- Tap on Add on the top right of the screen
- Enter the Title of PN
- Enter Description
- Tap on message preview so you can view how the message will look like
- Choose files - To add an image(s)
- Upload PDF (if applicable)
- Redirect Module (if applicable) User will have a button with the name of the module you wish to redirect to which will bring them to it with one click
- Schedule a date if you wish to send it at a later date/time, otherwise, leave it blank
- Select Unpublish date (if applicable) this will archive PN on a specific date, by default will be after 60 days
- Filter by the dropdown menu Groups: If you have created a group previously you can find it by the name of the group; Students: Will show a list of years/classes where you can select the ones relevant to you Family Type: You can select year/class and then apply family type filter
- Apply filter
- Select all or select relevant users that you wish to send PN to
- Add selected so they move to your Final list
- Tick Send SMS if you wish to notify users who do not have the school app
- Hit Send
Images
If you do not select any images on your PN user will see the school crest by default. We recommend adding an image that the user can associate with the message received.
We advise using this feature only if necessary as PDFs are made to be viewed on an A4 screen, as users are seeing the message on their mobile device can be quite hard to read messages on PDF. Instead, you can copy message from your PDF and paste it onto your Description.
Send SMS
This feature will identify users who don't have the school app and only those will receive an SMS with the message and links to download the school app. Everyone else will receive a notification via the School app.
Searching for previous PN sent
You can use filters to search for a PN previously sent. This is generally used to easily find a PN to see if a user has read the message, or if you need to export all messages sent to a specific student.
To search for a Personal notification please follow the steps below:
- Go to your Dashboard and tap on Personal notification then in the dropdown select Manage Personal notification
- Select any of the Filters available
- Hit Search
- Tap on Export on the top right of the screen
- Open Excel file in the downloads folder
Publish
If you have a PN that is not published you can make it visible for users that are already assigned to it by Publishing. Simply select PN that is unpublished and tap on Publish at the top right of the screen.
Archive
If you have a PN that is currently not to be seen until further notice you can archive it. Simply select the PN that is published and tap on Archive at the top right of the screen. To view any Archived PN go to your Dashboard/ Personal notifications/ Archived Personal notifications.
Delete
If you have a PN that you wish to delete, simply select PN and tap delete on the top right of the screen.
