Abort an Absence Request Sent in Error

Cancel an incorrect absence request from a student’s profile so the parent no longer needs to submit a note.

If an absence request was confirmed by the school in error, school staff can abort the request from the student’s profile. The parent will no longer need to submit an absence note for that request.

Before you start: check that you have the correct student, absence date and session (AM or PM). This guide covers cancelling a request for a note, not deleting a note already submitted by a parent.

1. Find the absence request

  1. Log in to uniqueschoolapp.ie.
  2. Use Search Student at the top right of the dashboard. Search for the student and open their profile.
  3. Select Attendance, then List View → Please Check.
  4. Find the request for the correct date and session. Click the edit (pencil) icon beside that request.

2. Change the status to Aborted

  1. In the panel that opens, check the Absent Date.
  2. Open the Absence Status dropdown and select Aborted.
  3. Click Submit to save the change.
Absence Status set to Aborted, with the Submit button below. Identifying details are hidden.
Select Aborted, then Submit. Identifying details have been hidden.

3. Check that the request was aborted

You will see the confirmation “Absence request Aborted successfully.” The request remains in the list and its ARF Status changes from R (Requested) to A (Aborted).

The parent no longer needs to submit a note for this request.

Please Check list showing Aborted status and the successful confirmation message. Student and school details are hidden.
The success message confirms the change. Identifying details have been hidden.
