Connect your school’s Vimeo account to upload and manage videos through Unique Schools. Once set up, you can share video links through the school app, website or social media.

1. Confirm your Vimeo account and plan

Use a school-owned Vimeo account. Before purchasing or changing a plan, contact staffsupport@uniqueschools.ie to confirm the plan, storage and privacy features needed for your school’s integration.

Plan names and prices can change. Vimeo API access itself is not restricted to paid accounts, although upload approval and some features depend on the account. See Vimeo’s API requirements and upload-access guidance.

2. Prepare the integration details

Your account owner or IT administrator should:

1. Open Vimeo’s Developer site and create an app for the school, following Vimeo’s app-creation instructions.
2. Locate the Client ID and Client Secret.
3. Generate an authenticated Access Token using the permissions required for the integration. The existing setup uses public, private, upload and edit; confirm these with support and grant no unnecessary permissions.
4. Check that API upload access is approved for the app.

3. Choose the school’s video folder

1. Open your Vimeo library.
2. Create or choose the folder that will hold the school’s videos.
3. Keep the folder link ready. Support will help confirm the Root User ID and Root Folder ID required for the connection.

4. Arrange setup with support

Email staffsupport@uniqueschools.ie to request the integration and agree a secure way to provide the required details.
